Lightning Bug

$ 1.75

This fly is a very effective all purpose nymph in both tail waters and freestone streams. Larry Graham, a Montana guide, developed the fly and had an article about the fly in the Spring 1998 issue of Fly Tying. This fly has found its place in many “Go-To” fly boxes. The Lightning Bug’s flash and shaggy look works well as either a mayfly or caddis emerger. Drop it off a dry fly or hopper, swing it in riffles, or trail it behind a Woolly Bugger. Tied correctly, this is a very durable fly, which is how I like my flies.
