The Prince Nymph is a “Must Have” fly in any fly fisher’s flybox. The Prince Nymph was made popular by Doug Prince of Monterey, CA from whom it gets its’ name. It is a great searching pattern and can be used to imitate Stoneflies and Caddis nymphs. Peacock body flies have long been a favorite of flyfishers. Since Peacock herl is very fragile, I use a dubbing loop on the herl so that it becomes almost bullet-proof. I want my flies to last for more than one fish.
